The Botany Department organised a Workshop cum Plant Identification Training Program on 26.03.2024, to fine-tune participants' plant identification skills. The program focused on morphological structures that are necessary for plant identification, taxonomic key preparation, interpretation, and use of identification keys focusing on the local flora, key characters for recognising major plant families, and the use of herbaria and web tools to support plant identifications. Dr. R. Murugan, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Ayyanadar Janaki Ammal College in Sivakasi, was the resource person for the program. The participants for the program were MSc students, research scholars, and faculty members.
